At withtheband we love a bit of new music so we're asking you to share your hot tips to who we should be listening to in 2010. Just comment under this article. (Shameless self-promotion is, as always, acceptable and encouraged.) It's not totally one sided though, we'll share some gems with you too. Don't say we never give you anything. We think 2010 could well be Ellie Goulding's year and we'd love to see London band The Collectable Few go stellar. With NME coverage and some great gigs this year they're definitely on their way. We'll be rooting for The October Game as they release their second album and hope they continue to go like hot cakes just as the pre-release copies have. We'd also love it if some of our folk-esque favourites (The Voluntary Butler Scheme, Jay Jay Pistolet, Slow Club, Peggy Sue, and Johnny Flynn) followed on the path that Mumford and Sons and Noah & The Whale have carved for folk in the UK charts. We're also waiting patiently for photographer Rankin's son Lyle to be released on the world but we'd give that a couple of years yet. He's only little. So come on ... spill the beans. |
